Sometimes, you need
to let others down,
to save yourself.

Registered Social Worker
in Nova Scotia & British Columbia
You’re drained and exhausted from trying to keep up with the demands and requests of others in your life. Your fear of letting other people down keeps you saying "yes" to things you don’t want to do. You’re starting to feel resentful. When was the last time you looked forward to your day because it was filled with things you enjoy? You can’t even remember…
If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.
Now, imagine you created a schedule for yourself that includes time for rest, relaxation, even fun! You smile and notice a sense of lightness, as you realize that you have created a life that balances your passion for helping others, and your own feelings, needs, and desires.
Hi! I’m Amy Pinnell!
I'm a Registered Social Worker and Counsellor.
Through my individual counselling services, I help Highly Sensitive Helpers and Healers find ease and joy in their lives through mindful inner work.

As a Highly Sensitive Social Worker and Therapist myself, I understand the struggle of wanting to do it all while not letting a single person down. I also know the pain of becoming disconnected from myself in an attempt to achieve this standard.

I know from experience that by turning inward with curiosity and kindness we can learn how to tend to our own needs, discover where we need to set boundaries, and how to bring more joy into our lives.
I might be the right therapist for you if...
... you recently discovered you're a Highly Sensitive Person
and want to learn more about your sensitivity
... you're a doctor, nurse, social worker, teacher,
or other helping professional and are looking to heal from chronic stress
... you have a big heart and want to give back,
but you often take on too much and end up feeling overwhelmed
... you put other's needs ahead of your own,
and you want to start taking care of YOU
... you understand the importance of boundaries
and want to learn how to implement them in your own life
While I have experience working with all genders, I am particularly passionate about helping women to find and use their voices, empower themselves, and treat themselves with kindness and care. I believe that by increasing your ability for self-trust, you will be able to identify your needs and respond with compassion
